High Blood Pressure
Natural Blood Pressure Support
A Naturopathic Approach to High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is common and often misunderstood.
Some people are told their numbers are “a little high” and to keep an eye on them. Others are prescribed medication quickly, without a clear explanation of why it’s happening.
Because blood pressure can stem from one or several systems, we take a whole-person approach, looking at patterns in your immune system, digestion, stress, sleep, and environment, and we build a plan with you, not just for you.
High blood pressure can be complex and may involve the kidneys, nervous system, lungs, liver, and/or endocrine (hormonal) system. It can stem from diet, sleep, exercise (or lack of), genetics, or other causes.
Those complexities mean high blood pressure care should be more than a quick appointment and a medication refill. We take the time to understand your health history, stress levels, sleep patterns, and any contributing factors. From there, we create a realistic plan focused on long-term cardiovascular health.
What These Skin Conditions Can Feel Like
Eczema, psoriasis, acne, and rosacea can vary widely from person to person. Beyond the visible symptoms, many patients describe:
- Persistent itching, burning, or discomfort
- Flare-ups that seem hard to predict
- Skin that reacts to foods, stress, or seasons
- Feeling self-conscious or frustrated with appearance
- Sleep disruption due to itching or discomfort
Living with a chronic skin condition can take a real toll, both physically and emotionally. Working to identify why your skin condition persists can help us address systemic root causes and find real, long-term solutions.

Why Eczema and Other Skin Conditions Happen
Healthy skin reflects a healthy internal environment. When something is persistently off on the surface, it’s worth asking what’s happening underneath.
While every patient is different, some common contributors we evaluate include:
- Immune dysregulation and chronic inflammation
- Gut health and intestinal permeability
- Food sensitivities or dietary triggers
- Hormonal imbalances (particularly with acne and rosacea)
- Chronic stress and elevated cortisol
- Nutrient deficiencies (including zinc, vitamin D, and omega-3s)
- Environmental or contact triggers
- Skin barrier dysfunction
- Liver detoxification and elimination
- Genetics and family history
Our Naturopathic Approach to Skin Health
We offer primary care services through a naturopathic lens, focusing on both symptom relief and the root causes driving your skin condition.
Depending on your needs, your plan may include:
- Identifying your triggers
We work to understand what’s driving your specific presentation. Whether it’s food sensitivities, environmental exposures, hormonal patterns, or stress. Getting this right is often the most important step. - Gut and immune support
There is a well-established connection between gut health and skin conditions. We assess and support digestive function as part of a complete picture of skin health. - Nutrition and anti-inflammatory strategies
Diet has a meaningful impact on skin conditions for many patients. We use evidence-based nutrition approaches to reduce inflammation, support skin barrier function, and identify individual food triggers.
- Herbal medicine and targeted supplements
Some herbal medicine strategies and physician-grade supplements may support blood vessel health, circulation, and stress response. We use these carefully, especially when medications are involved. - Screening exams and lab evaluation
As part of a naturopathic practice, we may recommend appropriate screening exams and labs to evaluate contributors, including metabolic markers, inflammation, thyroid and hormone function, cortisol levels, food sensitivities, nutrient status, and cardiovascular risk factors.
Medication Use and Prescription Management
We know this is particularly important to our new patients. Many patients come to a holistic health clinic either currently on or hoping to avoid medication, reduce dosage, or better understand why a medication was prescribed in the first place.
In some cases, lifestyle and root-cause support can significantly improve blood pressure over time.
However, blood pressure medications can be lifesaving. Any changes should be made safely, and we support responsible prescription management in coordination with your prescribing provider when appropriate.
What to Expect at Your Visit
We start by listening.
Your first appointment includes time to discuss:
- Your blood pressure history and home readings
- Family history and cardiovascular risk factors
- Stress, sleep, and energy
- Diet, movement, and lifestyle
- Current medications and supplements
- Symptoms like headaches, palpitations, or fatigue
**Member is responsible for the cost of the nutrients or vaccinations injected
This is where personalized healthcare makes a difference.
Naturopathic care is designed for long-term systemic support to balance your systems and support your overall health. We’re not here to hand you another prescription to help manage symptoms and send you on your way. We’re looking for root causes and solutions.

Canby Clinic, Erin Walker and staff are by far the kindest, most thorough physician group I have ever experienced. I have a lot of experience with other doctors, and Canby Clinic is the best, hands down. I am so grateful for the time and energy that Canby Clinic puts into every experience. I will drive hundreds of miles to see them for mine and my family care.

This is the BEST clinic you can ever go too! Dr. Walker is incredible and listens. My 14 yr old son had a bad experience with a conventional doctor and never wanted to see a Dr. again. I got him in with Dr. Ferguson and he LOVES him. Go sign up now! You won’t regret it!
