Dr. Schmaltz is dually licensed as a naturopathic physician and a chiropractor. He earned his doctorate in chiropractic medicine in 1997 from Logan University in Missouri. Excited about the results he’d seen with chiropractic care, he widened his scope of practice to primary care when he graduated from the National College of Natural Medicine in 2000. He also holds dual bachelor degrees one in biology from Logan University and the other in microbiology with minors in chemistry, mathematics and business from Purdue University.
He is a cancer survivor with firsthand empathy for his patients battling cancer. Dr. Schmaltz is originally from Indiana. He has two grown children who live in Florida. He enjoys visiting the coast, mountains, rivers and many other scenic activities around Oregon. His hobbies include playing the guitar, carpentry, reading, fishing and crabbing.
